Hello. This is a note from Baldr [1847600].

I had a hard time getting started in Torn. So after I figured things out I decided I was going to make it easier for "the next guy".

So I wrote a guide, called Baldr's Basic Advice. And it's been quite successful. Please read it if you have not.

This is the target list from my guide.

One of the most popular and useful pieces of that guide was a target list to help new players reach level 15. The targets have low stats (under 1,000 total), but the higher the level the better, because higher levels give higher experience.

A huge improvement along the way happened when oraN [1778676] did some coding and created a website/tool that allowed players to easily find targets that were not in the hospital. It's much easier using the tool.

The target list has grown over time, usually in fairly large jumps. And while I still post many targets in the Torn forums, the forums have size limits, so not all of the targets are listed there anymore. Less than half.

The best way to use the list is with Oran's tool (or possibly a similar tool). Both because it saves you trouble, and because the tool will have the entire target list.

The hard part of creating this list was finding good targets that had stats low enough to make them newbie friendly. That's where Glasnost [1844049] comes in. He had already created a website called FFScouter. It has a way to estimate battle stats. I don't know how it works, but I suspect magic. When I asked him if he could help me find good targets, he was very happy to help. And when he learned what I was doing, he even volunteered to help with the financing.

Financing the target list has always been expensive, to pay for spies. This last round of updates cost right around $2b. Overall? Well, I don't know (or want to think about) how much I've spent overall. (Totally worth it.)

But as I said, Glastnost volunteered to help with funding. And oraN had already volunteered to help fund it. (Oran actually pushed me into looking for new targets and had volunteered to pay the entire thing.) So the three of us went "thirds" on the cost of the last major update, splitting that $2b.

I'd like to thank them both for their help. They are both awesome.

How To Use This

Baldr's List 1, Baldr's List 2, etc : These are the lists designed for new players. All under 1,000 total.

Baldr's Extra List 1, 2, etc : These are targets I have had spied that were over 1,000. That keeps them off the main new player lists, but they may still be useful to some people.

Baldr's Domino List : There is a merit award that players can get by attacking someone who is already displaying the honor. This is a list of players where I know you can get that award. Inactive, of course. Once you have the award, you do not need to attack these again. Watch their stats, and attack the highest level target that you can easily beat.
